Privacy & data
Last updated: July 2026
This page explains, in plain language, what data Stage Pages collects from you when you read scripts on this site, what we do with it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect from you directly
Almost nothing. Stage Pages has no user accounts, no comment system, no newsletter sign-up form, and no shopping cart. There is nothing on this site that asks you to type in your name, email address, or any other personally identifying detail. If you write to our editorial address, we'll have whatever you put in the email — and that's it.
What our servers log automatically
Like any web server, ours records requests as they come in. The standard request log line includes: your IP address, the URL you requested, the time of the request, the page that referred you (if any), and a short string describing your browser and operating system (the "user agent"). We use these logs to spot broken pages, fix performance problems, and detect abusive traffic.
We retain raw access logs for thirty days, then aggregate them into anonymous statistics (page views by URL, country-level breakdowns, error rates) and discard the originals.
Cookies
We do not set any first-party cookies for tracking, personalisation, or analytics. If you visit this site and then immediately close your browser, your browser will have nothing of ours stored.
The only cookies you may encounter are technical cookies set by our hosting provider for load-balancing, and cookies set by third-party advertisements (see below).
Advertising
This site is supported by display advertising. Our ad partners — typically Google AdSense, although this may change — may set their own cookies and use them to deliver ads they believe are relevant to you, frequency-cap the ads you see, and report aggregate performance back to advertisers. We do not have access to the underlying targeting data; the ad networks operate independently of us.
If you'd rather not see personalised ads, you can opt out at Google's Ad Settings or Your Online Choices (Europe) or YourAdChoices (US/Canada). These tools work site-wide, not just for us.
Analytics
We use lightweight, privacy-respecting traffic analytics to count page views by URL. Our analytics setup does not identify individual visitors and does not follow you across other sites. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any similar cross-site tracker.
Children
This site is suitable for and frequently visited by school-age readers studying drama. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, of any age, because — as covered above — we do not collect personal information at all. If you are the parent or guardian of a young reader and have concerns, you can write to us at the editorial address.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change to how we handle reader data, we'll update this page and bump the "last updated" date at the top. We will not retroactively apply a more invasive policy to data collected under an earlier one.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, write to us at editors [at] stagepages [dot] example.
